Four Arctic Islands

The Arctic region contains an amazing variety of natural elements which you can discover during your journey between four isolated islands in the northern Atlantic Ocean. The expedition begins in Longyearbyen before it explores the dramatic fjords and wildlife habitats of Svalbard and then continues to the volcanic island of Jan Mayen.

The journey continues to East Greenland where towering mountains and immense glaciers dominate the landscape of Scoresbysund, the world’s largest fjord system. The journey comes to an end in Reykjavik Iceland after we explored the most remote Arctic wilderness areas.

Day by day

Day 1: Welcome to Longyearbyen
The journey begins in Longyearbyen, the gateway to the Svalbard archipelago. The settlement exists at a high Arctic latitude because it sits beneath the frozen mountains which spread across the tundra and glacier-covered terrain. After we boarded the expedition vessel our journey started when the ship entered the Arctic Ocean.
Day 2: Kongsfjorden Region
The expedition travels north along the coast of Spitsbergen to the dramatic Kongsfjorden. The fjord receives glacier ice from surrounding peaks which create a stunning Arctic landscape through their combination of high mountains. Ny-Ålesund shows visitors a historic scientific base which helped shape the first polar scientific missions.
Day 3: Wildlife of Northwest Svalbard
Day 4: Southern Fjords of Spitsbergen
Day 5 & 6: Sailing Toward Jan Mayen
Day 7: Jan Mayen Island
Day 8: Across the Greenland Sea
Day 9: Ittoqqortoormiit Village
